This guy has made several good games in the same calm and relaxing style. What every game has in common, is that you can pick it up right away, and there is no learning curve! A decent consistency in the artwork too!

Raku Gaki Islands
A webpage that I feel showcases great imagination, and a will to do some hard work, cause this takes time! Pretty neat 3d work in Flash too.
Assassins Creed
This trailer for Assassins Creed from UbiSoft was released during the recent event, UbiDays. It is done entirely ingame and features only gameplay, yet there is movie quality production and graphics in this trailer
Probably another major hit from UbiSoft, the guys behind recent amazing games like Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon.

Gears concept art
Came across this large collection of concept art for Gears of War. I really admire people that can churn this kind of graphics from their mind!

Dx 9 vs Dx 10
A couple of pretty neat videos that showcases the difference in dx9 vs dx10 technology. Impressive stuff, especially video nr. 2! And evidence that the ever growing ball of graphics keeps on rolling.

Cell Factor with a PhysX Ageia card installed
PhysX is a card that you can install in your computer to help out with physics calculations in games. A pretty interesting concept that can be seen in this demo of Cell Factor, the first game to utilize the PhysX card.
Nintendo
This last couple of years Nintendo have really redeemed themselves from the mediocre successes they had with Nintendo 64 and Gamecube. The Wii and the DS are on the way to being the biggest hits in the videogame industry ever. Much like UbiSoft are doing with the Splinter Cell series, Nintendo had the guts to renew themselves, to bet everything on 1 card. I really admire that, and it shows that no matter how bad you have made your bed, you can always redeem yourself.
Another Code: Two Memories
This is a game I have just gotten for my Nintendo DS, and I feel that it uses the DS the exact way it is meant to be used. For example, this one puzzle had you presented with a piece of paper on the lower screen and a stamp on the top. I bent my mind a long time before I figured it out. You actually had to "stamp" on the piece of paper by closing the DS and opening it again!
It must be really exiting to be in a project that pioneers a new and inventive platform in such way!

Renaissance
Pretty cool animation feature that is kind of like a cross-breed between Sin City the movie and Sin City the comic.
Shrek the Third
I was pretty disappointed with this movie, it has pretty much gone downhill from the first one. This rule I will have to carve into my leg: Stop while you're ahead!
And of course, never get gready!

Splinter Cell: Conviction
I've included this game in my journal because it is daring. Daring in the way that the Splinter Cell series already has a winning formula of graphics and gameplay, and yet they go ahead and change the entire gameplay style. Instead of hiding in the shadows while working for a government agency, you now hide in the crowds while fleeing from them.
Monkey Island
Phillips Entertaible
This is the a fantastic invention that utilizes new technology to bring back the old magic from board games. The touch-sensitive screen works like a board in a board game, and you can interact with it with regular pieces.
Gears of War
Gears of War is a landmark when it comes to graphical achievements in video gaming. This trailer for the game is made with the game engine itself, and is real-time. That is an amazing feat, when you can use a ingame engine to produce full quality trailers.
Trusty Bell
Not yet released, the artwork of this game is truly astounding. This is without a doubt the most successful utilization of cel shading to date.
Snow white
An important movie for everybody interested in animation and cartoons. I saw it again yesterday and the subtle colorwork
still amazes me.

Conan concept art
These are some of the skills that I lack, but will need to improve to get myself into the industry. Great sketches from mind to paper. Also, FunCom is a Norwegian company that I could very well see myself in.

Bioware
This company actually convinced me that it IS possible to make good movie-based games, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Pan's Labyrinth
I think this movie is great, because it sets the scene up so that everybody thinks its a movie for children. Then it rips the carpet from under the audience's feet with raw violence and leaves them in suspense for the rest of the movie. The surprising nature really inspires me.

Sin City
I add Sin City to my journal because I feel that movie, except from being awesome, represents what I want from my career after finishing school. I want to take an already established medium, in Sin City's case that's comics, and merge it with another medium.
It is also admirable that Rodriguez made the movie colorless, like the comic, and i love to stick this to people who claim that color is what makes a movie good :)

Whiteboard Stop Motion
A came across this fantastic video on a page called Break.com. I think its awesome since it showcases something that is similar to what I want to do with my folio. It doesn't have any weaknesses, everything is in the right place, and looks fantastic, while keeping the style consistent. It also showcases great imagination and will to work for your art. If was ever able to create something even remotely similar, I would be in ecstasy!
